About Me
I was born and raised in South Africa and moved around the world in my later years, currently in and out of South Africa and enjoying the desert the rest of the year . I’ve always felt the need to travel and search for the beauty in life, which I adore so. I find peace in simplicity which echoes through my work.
It has always been a passion of mine to document life, which is why I gravitated towards photography at a young age.
It’s the simple things in life that make me feel most alive. I aim to capture that as your photographer. Every memorable detail deserves its shot, I am particular and make sure I capture sentimental details. I have a unique eye for my photography art and more importantly, for noticing special characters, bonds and moments which should not be missed during a photoshoot.
Some may call me bossy during a session, mainly myself, but when you understand that every natural shot still comes with particular and intentional posing that only an experienced photographer understands, you will then see the method to my madness. Rest assured there will be music in my studio, every rhythm brings its own memory to a session and makes what can be a nervous session something rather uplifting and fun. I have many tricks for genuine smiles. There’s no moment that I will miss.
With over 20 years of experience in the art and photography field, I spent several years training high end photography studios across Europe and the United States. Specializing in studio and natural light photography. Different cultures and the many destinations I have worked in have influenced my photography and helped it grow. I’ve been very blessed in life by being able to explore and experience the world.
My business which branches out in multiple directions all derives from a play of my full name. Forest Imprints consists of my wildlife photography and travels. Dayman Designs is of course a combined gel nail studio and boutique of original goodies. Daymoon, a small charity of mine I like to focus on and very passionate about. It keeps me humble. I believe one should always make a difference in the world when one can, therefor if I can give back or help in an area I feel passionate about, then I do. A life motto I feel strongly about, is to live in the light.
I plan to make a difference, one photo at a time.
